Suri Cruise Takes Style Cue From Mom Katie Holmes

Suri Cruise may not be acting in Hollywood just yet, but she certainly is following in the footsteps of her mom, Katie Holmes, when it comes to fashion.

This weekend, the 18-year-old was spotted out in New York City with a girlfriend—both dressed casually for the rainy weather.

Having clearly learned how to edit a wardrobe from her stylish mom, Cruise wore a fit composed of easy staples: a black tank at the top and an airy low-rise black skirt at the bottom. For shoes, the daughter of the reigning queen of ballet flats opted for a pair of white, blue, and orange vintage-inspired Pony sneakers; and to accessorize, she added a pop of candy-apple red in the form of a handbag. She kept her makeup and hair looks equally minimal.

This is not the first time we’ve gotten a glimpse of Cruise’s personal style. Earlier this year, she was photographed out with her famous mom in Manhattan, the two looking casually cool in coordinating denim looks.

The Dawson’s Creek alum’s choice of denim that day was a pair of blue high-waisted bell-bottom jeans. She wore them with a cozy ribbed turtleneck sweater in tan. She layered on other earthy shades via a trench coat and a shoulder bag; and she finished her look with her go-to black Adidas Sambas, a black belt, and oval tortoiseshell sunglasses—as well as her favorite tiny gold earrings and nose hoop.

Her daughter, meanwhile, went full street style in some baggy blue jeans styled with a workwear-inspired denim jacket featuring big pockets and a tan suede collar. Underneath, Suri wore a white graphic cropped tee, and for footwear? Tan suede Birkenstock clogs.
