Myha’la Gives the Flapper Dress a Rock Star Spin

Myha’la Jael Herrold is making us reconsider the flapper dress.

This Monday, the actor stepped out in a New York City in a Miu Miu minidress that put a grungy, rock star spin on the classic 1920s staple.

The piece she chose is an artful mini crafted entirely from jagged pieces of silver medal and white crystal studs—which together look like scattered domino pieces layered on top of one another. The sleeveless dress has an elongated halterneck strap and a large teardrop-shaped cutout at the chest, where Myha’la’s tattoo was left visible. At the hem, the piece is adorned with plenty of metallic fringe studded with crystals, like the rest of the dress.

But who can ever have too much silver and too many jewels? The Bodies Bodies Bodies star accessorized her fun ensemble with layers upon layers of silver and diamond jewelry, including chunky huggies, several matching rings, and a bangle—plus two silver nose hoops and several ear seeds. She wrapped up the fit with a pair of gleaming white satin pointed-toe heels with a metallic sheen, also from Miu Miu.

The American actor wore the edgy party fit to the season three premiere of her HBO show Industry, held at Metrograph in New York City. She was joined on the red carpet by her costars, as well as by boyfriend Armando Rivera.

Created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, Industry follows a group of graduates competing for permanent positions at Pierpoint & Co., a prestigious investment bank in London.
