Margot Robbie took a break from her ongoing love affair with Barbiecore to wear a timeless red-carpet look, the kind untouchable by trends.
At the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 14th Governors Awards in Hollywood, the Barbie star made a sophisticated appearance in a classic black floor-length gown by Celine. The form-fitting dress featured a silver sequin-embellished halter neckline, which dipped into a plunging V and connected with a pool of cutouts sliced across the bodice.
She coordinated the look with a slew of glittering diamond jewelry from Fred Leighton, including pretty chandelier earrings and an array of rings, and black satin sandals from Manolo Blahnik.
Throughout the Barbie press tour, Robbie and her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, have channeled the famous doll through the actor’s outfits.
Most recently, Robbie did so at the 81st Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday, where she showed up in one of her pinkest looks to date: a Giorgio Armani Privé gown resembling the outfit worn by the 1977 SuperStar Barbie toy. Hot-pink sequins completely covered the dress, which Robbie paired with a matching ruffled tulle boa shawl that she wore wrapped around her arms. For added flair, she continued the color theme with a metallic pink clutch and pink pumps.
For the Globes after-party, she wore an all-black version of the Giorgio Armani Privé ensemble (because SuperStar Barbie had a black version of her own pink outfit).
