Sporty fashion has been getting a glow-up, and Dua Lipa is here for it.
In a new Instagram post, the Grammy winner showed us how to expertly incorporate a team jersey into our outfits by wearing one of her very own pieces of merch, themed around her latest single, “Training Season.”
The black-and-red striped jersey featured the name of Lipa’s song printed across the center, as well as her initials up top, and the number 22. In two of the photos, we see that the Barbie star layered the piece over a white long-sleeved T-shirt and paired it with black sweatpants, which helped to sell her overall athleisure aesthetic.
Of course, the “Houdini” singer is still rocking her bright red locks, which matched perfectly with the polyester top, and she accessorized with a pair of chunky golden hoop earrings and a thin golden necklace with a collection of charms that lay on her chest.
Lipa is just the latest fashion It girl to champion the jersey-as-fashion trend we’ve been seeing. From Julia Fox to Billie Eilish, these colorful pieces of merchandise are popping up on everyone—whether they’re being worn as dresses (in an effort to further the pantsless trend) or being given a feminine touch when styled with miniskirts or layered over lacy button-up tops. Even Taylor Swift is getting in on the fun—which makes sense, given that she’s dating an NFL tight end. While she hasn’t been rocking straight-up jerseys, the pop star has been putting a twist on the trending piece, opting for jerseylike puffer jackets and sporty windbreakers instead. Needless to say, if we had to guess, this probably won’t be the last we see of Lipa donning sportswear.
In the rest of the slideshow, the London native provided glimpses of her life, with the caption reading, “these days 🌻🌻🌻🌻.” The carousel featured shots of Lipa lying in fields of grass, visiting secret little free libraries, hiking up riverbeds, and enjoying delicious meals. We also got a glimpse at another one of her outfits: a black leather, square-necked piece with buckle straps going across the sides and up her shoulders.
