Anne Hathaway wasn’t afraid to shine for her first red-carpet look of the new year.
The Eileen star was the picture of elegance Thursday night at the National Board of Review’s annual Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City, where she and longtime stylist Erin Walsh tapped Giorgio Armani to make a fashion statement.
The Oscar winner’s midnight-black evening gown, pulled from the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 runway, featured embroidered twinkling sequins arranged in an intricate design. Other details continued to bring the drama, including a plunging sweetheart neckline that showed off Hathaway’s bare décolletage and cutouts that wrapped around the sides of her torso and extended to her back.
She finished off the look with diamond drop earrings from Bulgari and heels by Aquazzura.
Hathaway is kicking off her 2024 red-carpet wardrobe with a bang, and last year was full of unforgettable outfits from the actor worth mentioning here.
In December, she stole the show on the 2023 Fashion Awards red carpet in a vintage Valentino gown, a champagne couture creation that featured delicate ribbing details arranged into geometric shapes all over. For the after-party, she changed into another Valentino look: a strapless red minidress with a voluminous skirt composed of large rose-shaped frills. She paired the dress with black leather thigh-high leather boots.
Hathaway also wore two incredible looks to the CFDA Fashion Awards in November. First, she walked the carpet in a denim showstopper from Ralph Lauren’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection: a bustier-and-skirt set covered in an ethereal, cloudlike print. Later, she swapped the denim for lace, changing into a romantic sheer red gown from Rodarte’s Spring/Summer 2018 runway.
